Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- Lynchburg College's women's basketball team retained sole possession of first place in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference standings Wednesday night with a 63-42 road win over Roanoke.
Three Hornets reached the double-figure scoring plateau, led by junior forward Molly Shephard (Charlottesville, Va.), who dumped in a game-high 15 points to go with seven rebounds, five steals, and three assists. Senior guard Olivia DeFrancesco (Greensboro, N.C.) added 13 points, and senior wing Brittany Afolabi-Brown (Montgomery Village, Md.) tallied 10 points and seven boards.
Kayla Kinser led the way with 11 points for the Maroons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Maroons began the game on a 6-0 run before Lynchburg recovered with the next nine points. LC led 14-11 after the first period, the difference a DeFrancesco 3-pointer.
- Lynchburg assumed control in the second 10 minutes with another 9-0 run with Shephard scoring eight of the points.
- Afolabi-Brown and freshman guard Jules Misenheimer (East Aurora, N.Y.) helped extend the lead with six second-half points apiece.
LOOKING AHEAD
Lynchburg returns to Turner Gymnasium Saturday at 2 p.m. for its final home game of the 2018 season. The women will celebrate Senior Day prior to the contest with Washington and Lee.
