Box Score Lynchburg, Va.-- The 14th-ranked University of Lynchburg men's basketball team suffered a 70-64 setback against No.12 Randolph-Macon Saturday in a battle between nationally ranked Old Dominion Athletic Conference foes.
Senior wing Austin Wrighten (Woodbridge, Va.) led the Hornets with 20 points and he racked up eight rebounds along with three assists. Junior guard Chance Greene (Creedmoor, N.C.) had a strong showing with 14 points, four assists, and four rebounds.
Senior guard Devante' Young (Charlotte, N.C.) held his own on the court totaling 10 points, three assists, and two steals.
Lynchburg out rebounded the Old Dominion Athletic Conference-leading Yellow Jackets, 32-27.
Buzz Anthony had 19 points and three assists for R-MC.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Randolph-Macon got an early jump on the Hornets in the first half, leaping out to a 21-13 lead.

The Hornets started to gain momentum in the last few minutes of the first half after a much needed 6-0 run. Lynchburg ended the half strong with a 3-point shot from sophomore forward Reggie Davis (Greensboro, N.C.) quickly followed by another 3-pointer by Greene that cut the Randolph-Macon lead to one point. Anthony hit a jumper on the final possession of the half to send the teams into the locker room with the score 34-31 in the visitors' favor.

Randolph-Macon came out of the locker room the aggressor, forcing a turnover on the opening possession, which Corey Bays followed with a 3 for the Yellow Jackets.
- Lynchburg used a 7-0 run that ended with a layup from senior forward Connor Schroeder (Blacksburg, Va.) with 10:38 remaining to cut the lead to three, but R-MC responded with back-to-back buckets to reopen the gap. The Hornets never again cut the lead to one possession.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hornets will travel to Salem, Va., Wednesday, Jan. 30 to face Roanoke at 7:30 p.m. in a conference matchup.
