Box Score Roanoke, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team used a strong fourth quarter to earn its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory of 2019-20, a 73-60 road win at Hollins Wednesday evening.
The Hornets (3-2, 1-0 ODAC) outscored their hosts 25-8 in the final stanza, opening the period on a 14-3 run.
Lynchburg got 22 points -- 11 of which came in the dominant fourth period -- and seven rebounds off the bench from Lizzie Davis, while Erin Green chipped in 21 points and seven boards.
Abby Oguich scored a career-high 12 points and added nine rebounds -- eight of them on the offensive glass -- and two assists for the Hornets.
Kayla Surles led Hollins (1-2, 0-1) with 22 points, going 4-for-6 from 3-point territory.
The Hornets have now won their conference-opener in six consecutive seasons.
Lynchburg's women will be back in action Monday, Nov. 25 in their home conference opener against Eastern Mennonite. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
