Box Score Harrisonburg, Va. -- Maggie Quarles' season-best 24 points led three University of Lynchburg women's basketball players in double figures as the Hornets dispatched Eastern Mennonite, 82-61, Monday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Abby Oguich scored a career-high 22 points, going 10-for-12 from the field and grabbing eight rebounds, and Erin Green chipped in 18 points and nine rebounds for Lynchburg (4-2, 2-0 ODAC). Both added four assists.
Quarles shot a scalding 5-for-7 from 3-point territory, four of which came in the first half.
Alissa Smalls added eight points and eight assists for Lynchburg.
The Hornets led by as many as 15 early in the second quarter, but EMU (1-5, 0-1) uncorked an 11-0 run midway through the second and cut the deficit to 42-36 by halftime.
Lynchburg took back control in the second half, however, outscoring the Royals, 40-25, after halftime.
Emily McCombs led the Royals with 13 points.
The Hornets will break for Thanksgiving before returning to action Wednesday, Dec. 4 across town at Randolph.
