Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- Erin Green's 18-point effort highlighted three Hornets in double figures as University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team outlasted crosstown rival Randolph, 58-49, Wednesday night to stay unbeaten in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Green, a sophomore, added five rebounds, three assists, and a block to her stat line.
Carolyn Noe and Abby Oguich joined her in double-digit scoring, chipping in 13 points apiece. Oguich also snagged a team-high seven boards.
Lynchburg (5-2, 3-0 ODAC) trailed by a point, 27-26, at halftime, and the teams were tied at 40 early in the fourth period, but took the lead for good on a pair of Green free throws with 8:29 remaining. Those points sparked an 18-2 run for the Hornets that put the game out of reach.
Randolph (2-5, 0-3) got 16 points, three assists, and three steals from Yanessa Cabrera.
The victory ran Lynchburg's win streak over its crosstown foe to 19 straight games, dating back to the 2009-10 season.
The Hornets will continue ODAC play Saturday, Dec. 7 at home against Emory & Henry. The 4:30 p.m. tip will serve as the back end of a men's/women's doubleheader on the Hornets' Wayne Proffitt Court.
