Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- Despite Erin Green's 18 points and seven rebounds, University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team fell, 67-56, to Emory & Henry Saturday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Turnovers and fouls plagued the Hornets all night, as Lynchburg (5-3, 3-1 ODAC) finished the game with 22 giveaways and 23 infractions.
The Wasps (8-1, 3-0 ODAC) pulled away late with a 10-0 fourth-quarter run that began with Peyton Williams' 3-pointer at the 6:14 mark. Williams led E&H with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Lynchburg erased an eight-point halftime deficit with a 15-2 run in the early part of the third, and the Hornets took their first lead of the game on Green's jumped with 4:20 left in that quarter. The Hornets led by as many as four points in the period, but E&H rallied for a 43-40 lead by the third's end and put the game away with the run in the fourth.
Carolyn Noe added 13 points and three steals for Lynchburg, while Abby Oguich scored 12 points to go with six rebounds.
Lynchburg's women will break for exams before heading to the Daytona Beach Shootout in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Hornets will kick off that tournament against Hood at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20.
