Box Score Winchester, Va. -- The 20th-ranked University of Lynchburg's men's lacrosse team made it four straight victories Saturday afternoon with a 24-5 shellacking of Shenandoah on the road.
Senior attackman Evan Lombardo (Franklin Park, N.J.) led the Hornets with a hat trick and an assist, while senior attackman Logan Adams (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) contributed four assists and a goal.
Senior face-off man Craig Koester (Wildwood, Mo.) went 7-for-8 in the midfield clashes, and senior defender Seamus McDonald (Far Hills, N.J.) tied his season high with five ground balls and caused a turnover.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The visiting Hornets took control early with five unanswered goals in the first period. Junior midfielder Kevin Rogers (Leesburg, Va.) tallied a goal and an assist in the quarter.

Lynchburg added three more goals to start the second before SU got on the board. The visitors went into halftime with a 13-1 advantage as Lombardo completed the hat trick before halftime.

Adams kicked off the second half with a goal to keep the game rolling, and Lynchburg cruised to the victory.
LOOKING AHEAD
Lynchburg will continue Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Tuesday, April 2 when Ferrum visits Lakeside Drive for a 7 p.m. game. It will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
