Box Score Bridgewater, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's men's lacrosse team got into the Old Dominion Athletic Conference win column Saturday with an 18-7 rout of previously unbeaten Bridgewater.
Senior attackman Andrew Thomas (Roswell, Ga.) collected a game-high five goals to go with an assist, while senior attackman Evan Lombardo (Franklin Park, N.J.) chipped in four goals and a helper. Lombardo continued to write his into the Lynchburg men's lacrosse history books, moving into second place on the Hornets' career goals list with 175, passing 2009 grad Tyler Tolson's mark of 173.
Junior attackman Trammel Robinson (Memphis, Tenn.) scored two goals and dished out two assists.
Senior attackman Logan Adams (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) added four assists, and junior midfielder Kevin Rogers (Leesburg, Va.) contributed a goal and three assists to the Hornets' cause.
Lynchburg's face-off corps won 15 of the 26 scrums at midfield.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hornets snagged an early lead with first-quarter goals from Rogers, Lombardo, and senior midfielder Nick Willertz (Severn, Md.) and led 3-1 after 15 minutes.

Thomas scored four of his five goals in the second period as Lynchburg took control, leading 9-3 at halftime.

The Hornets poured it on after the break as Thomas scored just 16 seconds into the third, one of six man-up goals Lynchburg scored in the second half.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Hornets will be back in action Sunday, March 10 against Elizabethtown at the U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame in Sparks, Md. at 2 p.m.
