Emory, Va. -- Junior T.C. Thacker recorded his eighth double-double of the season, tying a season-high with 26 points and 14 rebounds as the University of Lynchburg men's basketball team sailed past Emory & Henry, 88-64, Saturday afternoon. 

The Hornets (11-5, 6-1 ODAC) were led by Thacker's 26 points while senior Chance Greene put up 13 and junior Luke Romeo contributed 13 points off the bench. Senior Cody Lang recorded his second double-double of the year with 13 points and 13 boards.

Lynchburg controlled the game from the opening tip. The Hornets never trailed in the contest as they went up by 15 in the first nine minutes, leading the Wasps (3-13, 0-7) 30-15 with 11:33 left in the first half. E&H mounted a mini rally to cut the defict to just nine with 2:59 left but the Hornets continued to pour it on as Lynchburg ended the half leading by 10, 52-42.

The Hornets held E&H scoreless for four straight minutes in the middle of the second half as the Wasps' Anthony Williams made a layup at the 11:14 mark and then did not score again until a Malcolm Morgan free throw at the 7:23 mark. During this run, the Hornets increased their lead from 17 to 26, their largest lead of the contest. 

Saturday's win was Lynchburg's fourth in a row and its second straight game of beating their opponent by 20+ points.

The University of Lynchburg men's basketball team will be back in action at home on Wednesday, Jan. 22 as the Hornets take on the Panthers of Ferrum College in a Coaches vs. Cancer matchup with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
