Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- Senior forward Cody Lang scored a career high 26 points as the University of Lynchburg men's basketball team rolled past Randolph College Wednesday night defeating the WildCats 82-69.
Lang's 26 points and career high 15 rebounds paced the Hornets (9-5, 4-1 ODAC) to their second conference win in a row. Three other Hornets scored in double digits as junior Reggie Davis had 12 and senior Chance Greene and junior Tharon Suggs each scored 10 points.
In the middle of the first half, the Hornets took a commanding nine point lead after a Lang layup put Lynchburg up 19-10. Soon after, the WildCats (5-9, 1-4) staged a comeback and eventually tied the game at 27-27 with 4:55 left in the half. Lynchburg fended off a scrappy Randolph team to finsh the half and went into the break leading 36-34.
After the break, the Hornets scored right away on lay up from junior Tharon Suggs to extend the lead to 38-34. Lynchburg continued to score, hitting 50 percent from the field and hitting 13 of 15 from the free throw line. Freshman Noah Bullock, junior T.C. Thacker, Suggs and Greene were all perfect from the line, with Suggs going 4-for-4.
The Hornets led for almost 39 minutes of the contest and their largest lead came at the 4:13 mark when they led 76-54.
The University of Lynchburg men's basketball team will be back in action on Wed. Jan. 15 at home as the Hornets take on the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup with tip off set for 7:30 p.m.
