Robinson's big day propels No. 14 men's lacrosse past F&M

Box Score

Lynchburg, Va. -- Trammel Robinson became the 13th player in University of Lynchburg men's lacrosse history to score seven goals in a game, and in doing so the senior led No. 14-ranked Lynchburg to a 19-10 thrashing of No. 12 Franklin & Marshall in Saturday's home-opener.

Robinson scored two goals in the Hornets' game-opening 5-0 run, helping Lynchburg (1-1) break the game open early. The Hornets led 8-2 after the first quarter of play.

Robinson added an assist to his tally, and Kevin Rogers scored five goals and two assists. Saturday's was Rogers' third-career five-goal performance and matched the senior's career-high.

Colin Dean chipped in a goal and four assists for the Hornets.

F&M (0-1) got three goals and an assist from Kevin Mollihan.

The nine-goal deficit marked the largest margin of victory for either team in the national powerhouse programs' all-time series.

Lynchburg hits the road again next Saturday, this time to Radnor, Pa., for a date with defending national champion and No. 3-ranked Cabrini.
