Box Score Salem, Va. -- Jayda Chambers and Abby Oguich each scored 15 points, but University of Lynchburg's women's basketball could not overcome an early deficit Wednesday, falling 88-73 at Roanoke in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference rivalry matchup.
Facing early foul trouble, Lynchburg (9-11, 6-7 ODAC) found itself down at halftime despite 12 first-half points from Chambers as the freshman eclipsed her career-high by the break.
Maggie Quarles scored all 13 of her points in the second half, but hot shooting by the Maroons (14-7, 9-5) -- Roanoke was 30-for-55 from the field in the game -- helped the hosts put the game away.
Lynchburg will be back on the road Saturday in ODAC action with a 4:30 p.m. tip at Guilford. The Hornets bested the Quakers, 50-46, at home January 7.
