Emory, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team made it two straight victories Friday evening with a 60-53 dispatching of Emory & Henry on the road.

The Hornets (2-1, 2-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference) got a double-double -- 13 points and 11 rebounds -- from junior forward Erin Green, and junior forward Abby Oguich added a game-high 14 points to go with eight boards and three assists. Junior guard Lizzie Davis chipped in eight points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

The game was close for the first several minutes, but Lynchburg scored in a flurry late in the first period to lead 16-10. E&H (1-2, 1-1) cut the lead back to three, but the Hornets pulled back comfortably ahead for an 11-point halftime advantage, 32-21.

Lynchburg led by as many as 19 in the third period, but the hosts outscored the Hornets, 19-7, in the fourth to bring the score to its final standing.

Brylee Jones led the Wasps with 12 points.

The Hornets' win ended a five-game losing streak against E&H dating back to February of 2018. It was the last regular-season meeting between the two schools with both as ODAC members; Emory & Henry is set to reclassify to Division II after this season.
