Lexington, Va. -- University of Lynchburg men's basketball fell to Washington and Lee University 69-47 on the road Sunday night. 

The Hornets (3-2, 2-2 ODAC) got out to a slow start and found themselves down 11-0 to the Generals (1-1, 1-1 ODAC) at the 15:21 mark in the first half. Lynchburg got on the board just 20 seconds later after a Dow Dunton jumper, but the Hornets would not score again until the 11:52 mark after a made layup from freshman Miles Taylor putting the score at 21-4. Washington and Lee did not let up and took a commanding 41-21 lead into the half.

Coming out of the break, the Hornets began to chip away at the Generals' lead as seniors Luke Romeo and Joey Hamer each hit 3-point shots on back-to-back possesions to shrink the Generals' lead to 45-31. Lynchburg connected on more shots in the second half as the Hornets scored 26 points, but it was not enough to overcome the large early deficit and Lynchburg fell for the second game in a row.

Sophomore Noah Bullock led all Lynchburg scorers with eight points on the night and Dunton brought down 10 rebounds. Freshman Trey Pittman scored six of the Hornets' 24 bench points in the contest. 

Lynchburg men's basketball will be back in action on Tuesday, February 16 as the Hornets travel to Hampden-Sydney to take on the Tigers with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
