Box Score Ferrum, Va. -- Abby Oguich logged another double-double, Kate Kolb scored 10 points off the bench, and University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team cruised to a 57-49 victory over Ferrum College Friday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Oguich scored 26 points and snagged 11 rebounds for the Hornets (4-1, 4-1 ODAC). It was the second double-double in as many games for the junior forward and her third of the season.
Kolb, a junior forward, added three rebounds to her second double-figure scoring effort of the year. Junior forward Erin Green collected five points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks.
Both teams struggled out of the gates and played to a 12-12 tie after one period of play, but Lynchburg finished the second half on an 8-2 run to lead at halftime, 25-19.
Ferrum (1-3, 1-3) stormed back late in the third with a 12-2 run to assume its first lead since the early going. The Panthers led by two entering the final 10 minutes.
The Hornets took back control quickly, however, opening the fourth on an 8-0 run and never again relinquishing the lead.
Lynchburg's win was its fourth in a row and the seventh consecutive victory over Ferrum, a streak dating back to 2014.
The Hornets will be back in action Tuesday, February 9 at home against Emory & Henry. The game will not count in the ODAC standings as the two teams have already played this season.
