Box Score Bridgewater, Va. -- Three University of Lynchburg men's lacrosse players recorded hat tricks as the fifth-ranked Hornets rolled by Bridgewater for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference win on the road Saturday afternoon.
Trammel Robinson, Kyle Lewis, and Colin Dean all scored three goals for the Hornets, who used huge second and third quarter scoring outputs to put the game out of reach. Brett Rogers added two goals and became the ninth player in Lynchburg's storied history to record five assists or more in a game.
The game was tied 2-2 in the early going, but Robinson scored twice in the final 3 minutes of the first quarter to put Lynchburg ahead for good. The Hornets outscored BC 7-2 in the second and 6-1 in the third, taking the pressure off the Lynchburg defense.
Ryan Kenney and Riley Mitchell each scored twice for Lynchburg, and Quintin Ricci went 16-for-25 at the face-off and scooped nine ground balls.
Lynchburg (10-2, 5-1) will hit the road again Wednesday for another ODAC affair, heading to Shenandoah for a 7 p.m. first whistle.
