Box Score Ashland, Va. -- Colin Dean and Jake Rust each scored four goals to lead the No. 5-ranked University of Lynchburg men's lacrosse team to a 19-6 blowout win at Randolph-Macon Saturday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Dean got the scoring started at the 12:37 mark in the first and scored again with 13 seconds left in the opening quarter to give the Hornets a 5-0 lead.
The graduate student scored once more in the second, and Rust had a hat trick in the period as Lynchburg cruised to an 11-2 halftime lead.
Dean added two assists for the Hornets, Brett Rogers tallied two goals and two assists, and Kyle Lewis had a goal and four assists. Lewis has three or more assists in five of his last six games, all Lynchburg victories.
The Hornets again dominated at the face-off X with an 18-for-29 mark, led by Quintin Ricci's 12-for-18 effort.
Chris Darminio scored twice, scooped five ground balls, and caused a turnover for the Hornets.
Bubba Bowen and Brandon Smith each scored twice for Randolph-Macon, which has dropped 31 straight to Lynchburg in men's lacrosse.
The Hornets (12-2, 7-1 ODAC) will take a break from league play Sunday evening with a 7 p.m. tilt against No. 18 Colorado College on Shellenberger Field.
