Lynchburg used another 8-0 run to start the second period, but the Marlins remained hot from outside the arc; VWU hit seven 3s in the first half to keep the game close. The Hornets led 49-35 at the half.
Lynchburg started the third on a 6-0 run and never looked back on the way to victory.
Green led the Hornets with 16 points and five rebounds, and Kate Kolb and Olivia Harris added 15 apiece. Lizzie Davis chipped in 10 points and nine assists.
Lynchburg (7-6, 3-3 ODAC) will return to Wayne Proffitt Court Saturday at 4:30 p.m. on the back end of an ODAC men's/women's doubleheader with Eastern Mennonite.
