Box Score Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's women's basketball team bookended halftime with a couple of big runs and cruised to an 83-53 win over Hollins Monday night in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.
Freshmen led the way for the Hornets; Olivia Harris scored 20 points, reaching double figures for her third-straight game, and McKenzie Brundage put in a season-best nine points on a trio of 3-pointers.
The senior class hauled its weight, too, highlighted by Erin Green's 15 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks and Kate Kolb's 11-point, eight-rebound effort.
Lynchburg scored 32 of its points at the free-throw line, shooting a torrid 86.5 percent from the charity stripe.
The Hornets led the game 11-8 after a back-and-forth first quarter, but Hollins quickly tied the game on the first possession of the second. Brundage's 3-pointer with 2:58 until halftime broke a 21-21 tie and sparked a 10-1 Hornet run to end the first half.
Lynchburg extended the run at the third quarter's start, using a 19-0 run in the third to take control of the game.
The Hornets will finish the regular season on the road with their last two games, starting with Thursday's 7 p.m. date at Ferrum.
