Box Score 2 Lancaster, Pa. -- University of Lynchburg's volleyball team moved to 2-1 on the young season, sweeping Saturday's first match against Lancaster Bible before falling in four sets to Eastern on the final day of the Hornets' northern weekend tour.
Lynchburg began the afternoon with a 25-22, 28-26, 25-16 sweep of Lancaster Bible inside Franklin & Marshall College's Mayser Center.
Princess Salifou led the Hornets with 11 kills, and Abbi Leeper added 10 more in the victory.
The Hornets took a classic first set in Saturday's nightcap but wound up falling to Eastern by a 31-33, 25-21, 25-11, 25-19 margin.
Leeper set the pace for the Hornets in the second match, totaling a day-best 15 kills while hitting .200 for the contest. Sophia Rucker hit a scalding .579 on her way to a career-high 12 kills, and Mya Green had 45 assists, marking the fourth time in the Hornet setter's career that she topped the 40-assist mark.

Lynchburg's volleyball team will hit the road again this week, kicking off a busy schedule with a trip to Southern Virginia on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. first serve.
