Box Score Ashland, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's basketball team lost to Randolph-Macon 56-30 on Wednesday evening.
Maddie Nimmo put up her fifth-straight double-digit scoring performance with 10 points, three steals, and three rebounds. The freshman is averaging 10 points per game on the season.
The Hornets never led in the game but kept things close in the first quarter. Nimmo made a 3-pointer late in the first to draw Lynchburg within six before the quarter break.
Nimmo scored five more points in the second, and Bree Spainhour reached six points on the night with a pair of free throws. However, the Yellow Jackets went into the locker room at halftime with a 29-18 lead.
Randolph-Macon put up 23 points in the third quarter to seal the game. Darcy Ross scored four points in the fourth quarter. The sophomore earned her first-career start on Wednesday and is averaging seven rebounds a game over the last three contests.
The Hornets (3-11, 2-6 ODAC) stay on the road Saturday, Jan. 14 when they take on Virginia Wesleyan at 2 p.m.
