Medford, Mass. -- The University of Lynchburg men's lacrosse team lost 19-4 to Tufts on Tuesday evening. 

Faceoff was moved up two hours due to the winter storm hitting Massachusetts, and the two nationally-ranked teams battled it out in snowy weather with tractors plowing the field during stoppages. 

Riley Mitchell scored No. 8 Lynchburg's first goal of the game at the 10:25 mark in the first. However, the Jumbos responded with eight-straight goals. Charlie Evans netted a man-up goal on an assist from Dylan Wolfe to stop the run, but third-ranked Tufts took a 9-2 lead into halftime. 

Riley Hastings and Spencer Vandenberg scored the only two goals for the Hornets in the second half as the Jumbos coasted to a 19-4 victory. Hastings' goal was a man-up, and Mitchell assisted on Vandenberg's score.

Tyler Hadley saved half the shots he faced totaling 17 stops. Patrick Moore relieved Hadley in net with 8:43 to play and made four saves on six shots. 

Michael Kraus and Dom Zingo both had five ground balls. Zingo also caused three turnovers.

The Hornets (4-2, 1-0 ODAC) have another ranked matchup on the schedule. They take on No. 10 St. Lawrence at the Mustang Classic. Faceoff is scheduled for 3:30 on Friday, March 17.
