Pineville, N.C. -- The University of Lynchburg women's soccer team fell to Emory 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Emory held possession for most of the first half with their first serious chance coming in the ninth minute after Claire Lloyd fouled an eagle at the top of the box. However, the PK attempt from Emory's Kylie Hall hit the post.
Lynchburg was unable to get a shot off in the first half, but Jade Lecklider's seven saves kept the score even.
In the second half, Emory heightened their attack after Lynchburg came up empty on three consecutive corners.
The Hornet's back line thwarted several Eagle runs before they could take aim at net. Eventually Emory broke through with a header in the 84th minute handing Lynchburg its third straight loss.
Lecklider had career-high 11 saves in the loss, topping her 10 save performance against Va. Wesleyan on Nov. 7, 2021.
Lynchburg (2-3) will host Southern Virginia University on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
