Ashland, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's soccer team kept it rolling Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 victory over Randolph-Macon on the road.
On Lynchburg's sixth shot of the first half with 23 seconds remaining, Trevor Miller buried a goal on an assist from Josh Auger. It was Miller's second-straight match with a goal after scoring late on Wednesday against Bridgewater, and both his scores served as the game-winner.
Randolph-Macon only had two shots in the match, and Thomas Viscuso did not need to make a save on his way to his fifth shutout.
As if Lynchburg needed any insurance, Carter Averette stepped to the spot for a penalty kick in the 77th minute and buried it for his fifth goal of the season. He is tied with Luke Mega for the team-lead in goals.
Lynchburg is riding an eight-match winning streak, and hosts Shenandoah on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.
