Box Score Ashland, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg men's basketball team fell to Randolph-Macon 65-50 Saturday afternoon.
Deondre Ross and Jonathan Foust each scored 10 points to lead the Hornets. Piercen Young led Lynchburg in rebounding with 10.
Randolph-Macon started the game on a 6-2 run, but a dunk from Foust with 15:51 remaining in the first half narrowed Randolph-Macon's lead to two. Lynchburg struggled to score in the first half, shooting 6-27 (22%) from the field and 1-10 (10%) from behind the arc. Young grabbed eight boards in the first half as Lynchburg to outrebound Randolph-Macon 23-15 in the first half.
The second half brought improved shooting numbers for the Hornets as they shot 11-30 (36%) on the floor compared to Randolph-Macon's 10-34 (29%). The Yellow Jackets led by as many as 26 in the second half, but nine second-half points from Miles Taylor and seven from Ross helped cut the lead to 15 by the end of the contest.
Lynchburg (10-10, 5-6 ODAC) will host Guilford on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m.
