Lexington, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's volleyball team fell to Washington & Lee in a sweep, 3-0.
Coming off a 3-0 vs. Hollins the day prior, Lynchburg trawled to Lexington to take on one of the top teams in the ODAC.
Entering this matchup, W&L had yet to lose a game in conference play all season. The Generals opened up the contest on a strong note, starting things off with a 13-6 lead in the first frame. From that point on, W&L continued to cruise through the first set and went on to claim a 25-17 win.
The second set began in a similar fashion, but a 10-1 run by the Hornets in the middle of the frame gave Lynchburg their largest lead of the day. However, the Generals would storm back and reclaim the lead and eventually take the set 25-21. Washington & Lee would close things out with an emphatic 25-13 win in the third and final set.
Lynchburg will be back in action in Turner Gymnasium for their final home game of the season and senior day this Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m.
