Bridgewater, Va.-- The Lynchburg women's soccer team finished in a draw against Bridgewater, 1-1, on the road.
The Hornets began the contest with frequent offensive pressure. A handful of opportunities were extinguished by the Eagles keeper, Rylee Asiello, who finished with six saves.
Bridgewater quickly jumped out in front with a feed from Lyric Birkley to Laura Narby for her fifth goal of the season, and take a 1-0 advantage.
However, the Lynchburg offense continued to attack downfield. The Hornets controlled possession with a 24-15 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in on goal. At the start of the second half,
Claire Lloyd found the back netting to knot the match up at 1-1.
After the two teams traded chances at the net, time would expire to result in a draw. This was just the third tie between the two programs in their 29 meetings since 1999.
The Hornets will head back on the road for a match in Winchester, to take on Shenandoah in an ODAC clash, this Saturday, Oct. 26.
