Ferrum, Va. -- The Lynchburg women's soccer team closed out their regular season with a 2-1 victory over Ferrum on the road.
The Hornets got things started in the first half with a goal by
McKenna Dahm off of a Penalty Kick in the 35th minute. In the second half, Lynchburg added another goal with
Elora Grochowski finding the back netting at the 56 minute mark.
Lynchburg controlled time of possession throughout the contest, out shooting Ferrum 37-9 and winning the corner kick category as well, 9-0.
Ferrum narrowed the deficit with their sole goal of the afternoon with two minutes remaining.
With this victory, Lynchburg captures the second overall seed in the ODAC tournament. The Hornets quarterfinal game will be next Tuesday, Nov. 5, against Bridgewater at home.
