Finn Schmidt scored Lynchburg's only goal of the second quarter, and the Bullets took a 7-4 lead into halftime.
The third quarter featured eight goals combined, and Wolfe scored the game's first and only man-up goal, but the Hornets still trailed headed into the final period.
