Lynchburg, Va. - The Lynchburg women's volleyball team began the Hill City Classic today with matches against William Peace and LeGrange, going 1-1 in four sets respectively. 

In their first match of the day against William Peace, Lynchburg dropped the first two opening sets 25-21 and 25-19. 

However, in the third frame, the Hornets quickly found their rhythm. Lynchburg opened up to a 13-3 advantage off of phenomenal play both offensively and defensively. The Hornets would go on to cruise to a 25-17 win. 

A late rally from the Pacers in the fourth set, a 5-1 run in their favor, led to a win in their third and final frame of the match 25-23.

After a brief hiatus, the Hornets retook the floor for a showdown with LeGrange. In this affair, Lynchburg came out firing on all cylinders. The Hornets dominated from the opening serve, claiming the first set 25-15.

In the second set, it was more of the same for Lynchburg. The Hornets would continue their dominance, winning 25-16. Lynchburg's' frontline continually sent shots back, tallying a season-high 11 team blocks. 

While the Panthers would win the third frame 25-18, the Hornets would close out the match in the fourth 25-15.

Lynchburg will have two more matches tomorrow to conclude the Hill City Classic. The Hornets will face Greensboro and North Carolina Wesleyan.
