Bridgewater, Va. - Lynchburg continued their conference schedule tonight against a tough Bridgwater team on their home floor, falling in four sets.
The Eagles came into this contest scorching hot. Bridgewater entered the match on an eight-game win streak, sweeping their opponents in the past seven.
The Hornets entered hostile territory with a record of 6-6, to face an opponent that had yet to give up set on their home floor all season.
Lynchburg opened up strong to a 14-10 advantage in the first frame. But towards the end of the first set, Regan Stoop took over for the Eagles. Stoop tallied four of the final five points for Bridgewater as they went on a 5-2 run to win 25-23.
During the second frame, it was all Lynchburg. Tori Williamson led the offensive front for the Hornets as finished the night with 16 kills. Lynchburg went on to win in dominant fashion 25-9.
While the Hornets would keep each frame competitive, Bridgewater's control late in the sets gave them the edge. The Eagles would win the final two sets 25-20 and 25-21.
Lynchburg now drops to 6-7 (0-2) on the season. The Hornets will continue their road slate with a match against Shenandoah this Saturday.
