Hornets Host No. 7 Hampden-Sydney Tigers

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg men's basketball team (7-4) welcomes the #7 Hampden-Sydney Tigers (9-2) to resume their conference schedule.

Lynchburg has won one of the past five meetings between the two programs. The Tigers enter this contest with wins in the last three meetings, including an 81-61 victory last season.

Hampden-Sydney comes to the Hill City with a win in their most recent game against Eastern (PA), 95-74. The Tigers are coming off a historic 31-win season that included their 11th ODAC championship and an NCAA Championship appearance.

Hampden Sydney sports a high-octane offense that averages 82.7 PPG, shooting 37% from the field and 32% behind the arc. Fifth-year guard Adam Brazil leads the ODAC in scoring with 23.3 PPG. The Preseason Second Team All-American has scored 20+ in eight games this season and has reached the 30-point mark on three occasions as well.

The Hornets return home after going 1-1 in the two games at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tenn. Lynchburg remains perfect on the home floor, winning their first five matchups in Turner. Leading scorer, Piercen Young is expected to return to the hardwood after suffering an injury three games ago vs. Nazareth. During his absence, Michael Gray has flourished, averaging 16.7 PPG during that stretch.

Following this game, the Hornets will look to secure their first road win of the season as they travel to Harrisonburg to face Eastern Mennonite on Jan. 8.
