Salem, Va. — The University of Lynchburg volleyball team extended its win streak to four matches with a 3–1 victory over Roanoke on Thursday night inside the Cregger Center.
The Hornets opened their four-match road stint with another strong offensive performance, hitting .196 as a team and outpacing the Maroons 55–34 in kills.
Kate Hardie led the attack with 17 kills, followed by Kailey Keough with 12 and Ava Meinhardt with nine. Mya Green added a team-high three aces to go along with four assists, while Alexis Scipione dished out 28 assists and Leah DiNardo recorded four blocks at the net. Defensively, Tori Williamson anchored the back row with 16 digs.
After taking the opening set 25–18, Lynchburg dropped the second 25–22 before bouncing back to win the next two, 25–19 and 25–15, to close out the match.
With the win, Lynchburg improves to 19–2 overall and 7–1 in ODAC play, while Roanoke falls to 9–11 (4–6 ODAC).
The Hornets continue their road stretch on Wednesday, Oct. 22, traveling to Randolph-Macon.
