Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg Hornets (12-10) are set to take on the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets (19-3) on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 4 p. m.
This will be the second meeting between the two this season. When they squared off in Ashland, Randolph-Macon secured a dominant 80-55 victory.Â
In the previous matchup,
John Henderson was the sole Hornet to reach double-figures with 12 points. For the Yellow Jackets, Jabril Robinson scored a game-high 18 points and Keishawn Pulley Jr. tallied a career-high five steals. Robinson and Pulley are both top-10 scorers in the ODAC, averaging 13.8 and 14.1 points per game respectively.Â
Randolph Macon comes to the Hill City with a 16-game winning streak, undefeated since Dec. 7. The Yellow Jackets sport one of the top defenses in the conference, allowing under 60 points per game and holding opponents to under 40% shooting from the floor. Randolph-Macon also protects the ball better than any other team in the ODAC. The Yellow Jackets are the only team in the conference that averages single-digit turnovers at 9.2.Â
The Hornets come into this affair on a two-game winning streak, taking down Shenandoah 78-76 in their most recent contest. Junior guard
Piercen Young is fresh off an ODAC Offensive Player of the Week performance after dropping a career-high 27 points against Randolph two games ago.Â
This will be the penultimate home game this season for the Hornets, with just three games remaining in the regular season. Lynchburg will play its final road game of the regular season following this game, facing Bridgewater on Wednesday. Feb. 19.Â
