Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg Hornets (12-11) are headed to Bridgewater for a matchup against the Eagles (8-15) on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m.
These two teams faced off earlier this season in Turner Gymnasium on Dec. 4, the first conference game of the season for both squads. Lynchburg secured the win in a tightly contested 73-71 affair.Â
The Eagles enter this affair, win-less in the last 30 days. On a seven-game losing skid, Bridgwater's last win was on Jan. 18 over Averett. Bridgewater ranks last in the conference in scoring, averaging 64.0 PPG while allowing 71.0 PPG.Â
Bridgewater is led by two dynamic scorers, Aaron Oates and Jordan Cooper. Together, the two average 27.5 PPG. When they played in Lynchburg earlier this season, Oates tallied 18 and Cooper recorded 23. Â
The Hornets come into this contest after a loss in their last game against Randolph-Macon. The Hornets have three players tied for their leading scorer with 11.6 points per game:
Jamarcus Brown,
Piercen Young, and
Michael Gray.
Lynchburg and Bridgewater are the only two teams in the ODAC that average more than 14 turnovers a game.Â
Following this matchup, the Hornets will conclude their regular season at home against Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, Feb. 22. Â
