Rustburg, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian team hosted the IHSA Regionals on Saturday. The Hornets' IHSA crew and director of equestrian Phillip Williamson officially became the first Lynchburg team in program history to win Zone 4 Region 2.

After winning the high point team awards at seven of the nine regular season IHSA shows this season, the Hornets are the Zone 4 Region 2 High Point Team. Lynchburg looks ahead to Zone Finals, and Ava Jackson, Elle Nutting and Lucy Metzler will compete at Zones individually.

Elle Nutting placed second in intermediate fences and ultimately qualified for zones. Ava Jackson took home the blue ribbon of limit flat and qualified as well, while Lucy Metzler finished second in the open flat and qualified for Zones individually. Zoey Horn finished third in intermediate fences. The IHSA squad came back to campus after today's competition to ring the bell in triumph.
