Lexington, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg equestrian squad competed in the Washington & Lee IHSA this weekend and finished in fifth place with a 25 final with drop score.
The top squad at the show was Virginia Tech, who claimed the top spot with 30 points. Hollins and UVA tied for second place with 29 points apiece. James Madison snagged fourth place with 27 points.
Lynchburg had three performers earn the top spot in their respective classes. Senior
Margaret Stell was first in Open Fences A, senior Fallyn Belcatsro claimed first in Open Flat A, and freshman
McKenzie Burch took first in Limit Fences B. Sophomore
Ava Hogan and junior
Sophia Schorr each placed second in the Limit Flat A and Introductory classes, respectively. Junior
Zoey Horn rounded out Hornets in the top three with a third-place finish in Intermediate Fences.
Next up on the IHSA slate is the Hollins IHSA on Saturday, March 8 in Roanoke, Va., starting at 10 a.m.
