Lynchburg, Va. -- Senior Pitcher
Logan Tapman tossed an impressive no-hitter and led the University of Lynchburg baseball team to an 11-0 victory over Hampden-Sydney in seven innings on Wednesday afternoon at James C. Fox Field.
On the mound, Tapman was dominant throughout the entire contest, tossing a complete-game shutout. He allowed no hits over seven innings while striking out 13 and walking two. The Hornets defense backed him up despite two errors, as Lynchburg secured the shutout victory. Tapman started the outing on fire, striking out the first three batters and notching eight Ks in the first three innings. His no-hitter is the first for Lynchburg since Ryan McDonough tossed a no-no against Immaculata on Oct. 21, 2010.

Brandon Garcia singled and later scored on an RBI single by
Benton Jones.
Quinn Madden followed with an RBI double to bring home Jones and give Lynchburg a 2-0 lead in the opening frame.
Lynchburg propelled further in front in the second inning, scoring five runs on four hits. Garcia and Jones each drew walks to set the table before
Jack Pokorak singled in a run.
Joe Munitz added an RBI single, and
Sean Pokorak delivered the big hit of the inning with a two-run triple to center.
Kyle Flora capped the rally with an RBI single as the lead grew to 7-0.
The Hornets continued to add on in the third when
Kyle Moshier hit a solo home run. Lynchburg pushed across single runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings as well.
Eli Carroll drove in a run with a single in the fourth,
Jack Pokorak added a sacrifice fly in the fifth, and Flora brought home another run on a fielder's choice in the sixth.
Lynchburg finished with 11 runs on 13 hits while drawing five walks. The Pokorak brothers and Flora paced the offense with two hits and two RBI each. Garcia scored three times and drew three walks, while Munitz scored twice, tallied two base knocks, and drove in a run.
