Waco, Texas -- University of Lynchburg equestrian rider
Abby Zemp was named a 2025-26 Ariat All-American First Team member, while three additional Lynchburg performers were named All-American Honorable Mentions, announced by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) on Tuesday.
Zemp was named to the Flat First Team All-American list, which included the best six riders across the country in both single and dual discipline. The senior finished the season (prior to the NCEA National Championship) with a perfect 10-0 record in head-to-head rides, including four road victories. She averaged a score of 81.6 in the flat throughout the season and was the leader across the country in win percentage for eligible All-American candidates.
Additionally,
Amaya Bellfield,
Mary Katherine Ragsdale, and
Madeline Rubin were each named Fences All-American Honorable Mentions. All three averaged a score above 82.5 for the season and achieved at least six head-to-head wins. Both Bellfield and Rubin earned two MOP awards throughout the year in the fences while Ragsdale also earned a selection as the fences MOP.
The Hornets' equestrian squad continues to prepare for the NCEA National Championship in Ocala, Fla., starting with a semifinal bout against ODAC rival Sweet Briar on Friday, April 17 at the World Equestrian Center.
