Lynchburg, Va. -- On the team's senior day, the University of Lynchburg women's volleyball team earned a three-set victory against Hollins on Saturday afternoon in Turner Gymnasium. The seven student-athletes that were honored in today's ceremony were Alexis Scipione, Mia Hinkamper, Ashlyn Davis, Cara Taylor, Tori Williamson, Ava Meinhardt, and Jacqueline Bryant.

The Hornets improved to 12-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play with the victory. Hollins moved to 1-10 overall and 0-4 in the conference. Lynchburg recorded 43 kills while hitting .283 for the match. The Hornets finished with 41 assists, 14 service aces, 47 digs and four total blocks. Hollins totaled 18 kills and hit .086.

The Hornets produced 16 kills in the opening set, their highest total of the match, and hit .268 on 41 attempts. Lynchburg followed with its most efficient offensive performance in the second set, registering 13 kills with only three errors for a .385 hitting percentage. The Hornets closed the match with 14 kills in the third set, which featured four ties and three lead changes.

Cambre Phillips led Lynchburg with nine kills and added two service aces and 11 digs. Ashlyn Davis contributed a career-best eight kills on 17 attempts, hitting .353, and recorded two block assists. Ava Meinhardt finished with seven kills on 10 error-free attacks for a match-high .700 hitting percentage. She also collected two aces, five digs, one solo block and one block assist.

Leah DiNardo added seven kills and two block assists, while Tori Williamson recorded five kills and two digs. Alexis Scipione distributed a team-high 20 assists to go with five digs and one ace. Cara Taylor supplied 18 assists, two aces and three digs. Haydyn Proscia led the Hornets with four service aces and added eight digs, while Mia Hinkamper totaled three aces, 11 digs and one assist.

Next up, Lynchburg is set for its Code Red match against ODAC foe Batten on Wednesday, September 30 in Turner Gymnasium.
