Sewanee, Tenn. -- The University of Lynchburg women's volleyball team earned a pair of three-set victories on Friday at Juhan Gymnasium, taking down both North Park and Sewanee in the first two parts of a three-match road trip to the Volunteer State.

The RV Hornets (3-0) opened the day with a 25-17, 25-17, 27-25 victory over North Park (0-2). Lynchburg totaled 36 kills, 35 assists, 43 digs, five service aces and six team blocks. The Hornets hit .375 in the opening set, recording 15 kills and three errors on 32 attempts.

Tori Williamson led Lynchburg with 10 kills and added six digs, two service aces, one solo block and one block assist. Kate Hardie finished with eight kills, eight digs, two aces, one solo block and two block assists. Ava Meinhardt contributed seven kills with a .278 hitting percentage, while Cambre Phillips recorded five kills, 10 digs and one ace. Leah DiNardo added five kills and hit .333.

Alexis Scipione distributed 26 assists and collected five digs, while Kenstin Phelps added five assists. Mia Hinkamper led the Hornets with 11 digs. Lynchburg limited North Park to 25 kills and a minus-.010 hitting percentage.

Lynchburg followed with a 25-23, 25-18, 26-24 win over Sewanee (1-1). The Hornets recorded 40 kills and hit .272, finishing with 38 assists, 41 digs, five aces and four team blocks. Lynchburg produced 17 kills and a .394 hitting percentage in the first set.

Hardie led the Hornets with 10 kills, nine digs, two aces and three block assists against Sewanee. Phillips finished with eight kills and one service ace. Williamson, Meinhardt and DiNardo each contributed seven kills. DiNardo did not commit an attack error on 12 attempts and posted a .583 hitting percentage.

Phelps recorded 32 assists and 10 digs, and Williamson added seven digs and two service aces. Hinkamper and Hardie each collected nine digs. Meinhardt registered one solo block and one block assist, while DiNardo finished with two block assists. Lynchburg held Sewanee to 37 kills and a .192 hitting percentage.

The Hornets will complete their last of three matches in two days tomorrow against Transylvania at noon.
