Give to Lynchburg Softball!

softball team meeting

Head coach Dawn Simmons and the Hornets are grateful for your support of the team!

Coach Simmons surpassed the 700 win mark in 2024 and has the most victories of any softball coach in the history of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Lynchburg has won six ODAC championships in its storied history. The Hornets played in the national champions in 2008 after winning the Fayetteville regional and hosted a super regional in 2019. Over 50 Hornets have been named to all-conference teams in the last 10 seasons, and the Hornets boast eight All-Americans since 2004.

Last season, the Hornets amassed 29 wins, the most since 2021, and saw five performers earn All-ODAC honors. Lexi Powell was awarded a 2024 NCAA DIII Rawlings Gold Glove Award. Sarah Watts was named to the VaSID All-State First Team and Kailey Dorcsis was tabbed to the All-State Second Team. Lynchburg claimed some impressive victories last season over then-ranked No. 2 Salisbury and No. 12 Virginia Wesleyan.
