Coach Sam Llaneza and the Hornets are grateful for your support of the team!

In 2024, the men's and women's Hornet squads traveled to Terre Haute, Ind. for their fourth consecutive NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship. Chasen Hunt and Allison Dell finished among the top of their respective groups, each claiming All-American honors. Hunt placed 14th in the men's 8k, clocking a time of 24:24.3 and tying Frank Csorba's placement in 2023 for the best finish in the ODAC since former Hornet Ricky Flynn took home the individual championship in 2009. Dell's 26th-place finish in the women's 6k with a time of 21:35.3 marked the highest women's finish at a national meet in Lynchburg distance history.

The men's crew won its second straight South Regional title with Hunt taking the individual victory and Sam Llaneza posting a third-place finish. Prior to that, the men secured their fourth consecutive ODAC Championship title and numerous accolades including Hunt's Runner of the Meet and Alex Jordan's Rookie of the Meet. The women's team sealed a second-place finish at the ODAC Championship and followed up with third place in the South Regional Championship. Lynchburg's women's group had three finishers in the top-five at the conference championship meet, all of whom earned First-Team All-ODAC recognition. Additionally, Kayla Werner was bestowed the Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
