Karren Mann joined the Lynchburg field hockey program in 2017 as an assistant coach specializing in goalkeeper instruction.
Mann began her coaching career at her alma mater, Mary Washington College (now University of Mary Washington) in her hometown of Fredericksburg, Va., where she specialized in goalkeepers for both field hockey and lacrosse. Her instruction earned her players All-American and all-conference honors. After coaching at Mary Washington, Mann went on to coach the women’s lacrosse team at George Mason University for two seasons.
Her love of coaching goalkeepers brought her to James Monroe High School as an assistant coach. Her keepers earned first team all-district, first-team all-region, and first-team all-state honors and continued on to NCAA Division I careers.
Mann returned to college coaching at Randolph-Macon from 2006-16. During her tenure, her goalies earned all-ODAC, all-state, and NCAA statistical champion honors. In 2017, she began coaching goalkeepers at University of Lynchburg. Her goalkeepers have earned all-conference and all-region accolades as well as NFHCA players of the week for each starting keeper.Â
At Mary Washington, Mann was a three-sport athlete in field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse.
