2010 ALL-ODAC HONORABLE MENTION DOUBLES
Senior (2011): Finished his senior year with an overall record of 7-5 in singles...also won four doubles matches.
Junior (2010): Ended the season going 5-12 in singles matches, including a comeback win against Roanoke College's number four seed where he won 0-6, 6-3, 10-8 . . . Nelson also competed in thirteen doubles matches with Brandon Brown, winning seven.
Sophomore (2009): Had another rigorous season as a Hornet...competed in 10 singles matches...ties for third in overall ODAC wins...appeared in 12 doubles matches.
Freshman (2008): A rigorous competitor for the Hornets…competed in 15 singles matches…tied for third in ODAC wins among the Hornets…appeared in 12 doubles matches.
Before LC: Was a sectional qualifier in swimming in the Charlotte area, while also holding the team captaincy for four years . . . helped his swim team qualify to a state championship all four years . . . valedictorian of his class.
Personal: Son of Dave and Carrie Nelson . . . has two brothers . . . psychology major . . . academic All-ODAC . . . Westover Honors Program . . . Phi Delta Theta fraternity . . . brother, Ben, competed for Guilford in tennis . . . mother was a synchronized swimmer at The Ohio State University for four years.
