Carly Hudnall joined the Lynchburg softball coaching staff in the fall of 2025, bringing valuable experience from her time as a student-athlete for the Hornets and as a leader behind the plate. A Rustburg, Va., native, Hudnall won a state championship before continuing her playing career with four successful seasons at Lynchburg.

Over her four-year career, Hudnall established herself as a consistent presence in the lineup and a strong defensive catcher. She posted a .327 career batting average across 441 at-bats while earning three All-ODAC selections.

Hudnall enters her second season coaching under head coach Dawn Simmons as she continues to develop and grow in her role as an assistant coach.
