Maria Caro joined the Lynchburg tennis staff ahead of the 2025-2026 season and helped the women's team to the ODAC Semifinals for the first time since 2022. As an athlete for the Hornets, she secured her 100th win in April 2025 against Sweet Briar and received First Team All-ODAC honors in doubles.

In her first season on staff, Caro led the women's team to an 11-6 record, while the men's team produced an 8-9 overall mark. In addition, Ricards Spaks earned the ODAC Player of the Year Award, becoming the first Hornet since Pete Moran in 1986 to earn the distinction.
