Randall Carter

Randall Carter joined the Lynchburg men's and women's tennis coaching staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2019-20 season. He served as the head men's coach in 2021-22 and moved into the associate head coach role for 2022-23.

During Carter's stint as head coach of the men's program in 2021-22, Levi Vigdorchik earned second-team all-ODAC honors at No. 1 singles becoming the first Lynchburg men's tennis player to appear on an all-conference team at the top flight since 2018.

The men went 6-3 in the COVID-19 shortened 2019-20 season. Before the cancellation, the Hornets went 3-2 in Hilton Head, S.C. at the Spring Tennis Fest. In 2020-21, the men went 7-3 and hosted a conference tournament quarterfinal matchup with Roanoke. Lynchburg was seeded fourth in the tournament which was their highest-ever seeding. Carter also coached two Old Dominion Athletic Players of the Week in 2020-21. The men earned an Tennis Association's All-Academic Team distinction as well. 

The former Radford University standout helped the Highlanders to Big South titles in both 2011 and 2012 and was RU's scholar-athlete of the year in 2013.

He served as the director of tennis at the Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon and assistant pro at Glenrochie Country Club, also in Abingdon, prior to moving to Lynchburg.
