No. 15 LC Field Hockey drops close game to No. 8 Christopher Newport

            NEWPORT NEWS, VA.  - With only ten minutes remaining in the game, Christopher Newport scored the go-ahead goal against Lynchburg College field hockey, as the Captains beat the Hornets 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Junior goalie Tiffany Frye (Williamsburg, VA/Bruton) had turned away 14 shots from Christopher Newport until Brianna Milne scored at 60:37 to put the Captains up by one with just minutes to play. The Hornets put plenty of shots on goal, including five shots from junior Kristina Morris (Stafford, VA/Mountain View) but could not get past Captains goalie Brittany Bradsher.

Lynchburg (3-2) will travel to Springfield, VA to take on Messiah on Wednesday before returning home next weekend to host Roanoke and Frostburg State.
