Lynchburg Men's Basketball Falls to Guilford
GUILFORD, NC - The Lynchburg College men's basketball team fell to Guilford College on Saturday by a score of 69-54 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.
Sophomore guard Michael Glover (Verona, VA/Spotswood) led the Hornets in points coming off the bench going 5-9 from the field including 4-7 from three-point range registering 14 points. Junior forward Nate Campbell (Cary, NC/Cary) chipped in ten points as well for Lynchburg.
After a closely contested first half, Lynchburg went into the locker room at halftime with a 33-29 lead after Campbell hit a jumper with 32 seconds left on the clock.
Guilford though tied the game at 36-36 at the 17:57 mark of the second half. The Quakers would extend their lead by as much as 21 due to strong shooting from the paint. Martin Stephenson and Josh Pittman led Guilford (9-2/3-2 ODAC) in points with 19 and 17, respectively.
Lynchburg (5-9, 1-5 ODAC) had 25 points off players from their bench. Freshman Gary Boone (Stafford, VA/North Stafford) led the Hornets with five rebounds.
The Hornets will host Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Turner Gym.
